Our tax counsel provide our clients with sophisticated tax advice on various Federal and New York State income tax issues as well as sales tax and other tax-related concerns. Such advice may be provided as part of our overall representation of a client on a commercial transaction such as the purchase or sale of a business and/or real property, or may relate to discrete issues of tax planning. Our tax counsel also represent individual and business clients in the resolution of Federal and New York State tax controversies including residency issues, audits, sales tax issues, withholding taxes, income taxes and voluntary disclosure; collection matters such as offers in compromise, installment agreements, liens, levies and warrants; responsible person assessments; innocent spouse; NYS conciliation conferences; IRS appeals and related items.
