Charles W. Weiss is counsel to the firm, focusing primarily on residential and commercial real estate transactions. A graduate of The George Washington University (B.A., 1972) and St. John’s University School of Law (J.D., 1976), Mr. Weiss has practiced law in New York City and on Long Island since 1977.
Mr. Weiss has considerable experience in the negotiation and consummation of complex land acquisition and development deals, commercial leasing, all manner of real estate related financing including acquisition and development loans, 1031 exchanges, air rights transfers and residential sales and purchases. He has prepared many condominium and cooperative offering plans, as well as no action letter applications.
Mr. Weiss is a member of the New York State Bar Association, with additional membership in the Real Property Law Section and Committee on Cooperatives and Condominiums. He is also on the Advisory Board of First American Title Insurance Company. In 2008, Mr. Weiss was named the Residential Real Estate Lawyer of the Year by the Mann Foundation.
An active member of his community, Mr. Weiss served for fifteen years in various positions in the Incorporated Village of Flower Hill, the last seven as Mayor. He is presently a member of the Board of Trustees of Temple Sinai of Roslyn.
