Martin I. Semel is of counsel to the firm, and is involved in its Corporate and Business practice group, and in its Real Estate practice group.
Since his admission to the Bar in 1959, Mr. Semel has represented a diverse group of family and closely held business entities in both of the above areas of practice. Mr. Semel has extensive experience in negotiating, structuring and documenting all forms of corporate and commercial transactions, including sales and acquisitions of stock and/or assets, and the financing thereof, and in negotiating and drafting partnership, shareholder and operating agreements.
Mr. Semel has extensive experience representing borrowers in asset based lending and factoring transactions, and has a strong background in negotiating, structuring and drafting the acquisition, sale and leasing of all forms of real property.
Mr. Semel is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association, and is admitted to practice in the State of New York and before all of the Federal and State Courts in New York, as well as before the Supreme Court of the United States.
Mr. Semel is a graduate of Cornell University (B.A., 1956), and Cornell Law School (J.D., 1959).
